Bus Stop Banter

So, I am VERY new to this blog stuff, so please understand if I am less than thrilling in some of these posts.

As many of you know, I love to share things that my children say, and most of the time, it seems to reflect poorly on Ian and I as parents. Things like Evalyn saying "Dad, sometimes my front bum gets hungry and eats my panties," and Madi, upon being asked why she is fibbing so much lately saying "that is just the way God made me." Even recently, I was telling Evalyn that she needed to go brush her teeth because her breath was a little stinky, she breathed into her hand and said, "my breath smells like ants!" Oops! Where on earth could she have heard something like that?

So anyway, Monday was Madi's first day of school, and it was also her birthday. (Oh, here is a sidenote - year round school ROCKS!!!) I walked her out to the bus stop, and up walks the 'bully' of the bus stop - who incedently has a soft spot for Madi for some reason. She proudly tells him that it is her birthday, and he replies "so you are probably six, right?" She gasps and says "no, I am in second grade - I am 7." He proceeds to show her another little girl who just turned 6 and is a head taller than Madi. She then says "well, I was born early, so I am small." FIBBER! She was born a whole DAY early! I called her over and told her that she didn't need to lie, just tell them that she is little, and she likes it that way! I guess I will let this one pass, as after all, that is the way God made her, right?
